The 4th
Protein
Rainbow
Workshop
will be a hands-on course in quantitative comparison of
complex protein samples by 2-dimensional gel electrophoresis of
differentially fluorescent labelled protein mixtures, image
analysis, and identification of selected proteins by mass
spectrometry. The course agenda covers theoretical and practical
aspects ranging from sample preparation, 2D protein profiling using
the fluorescent based multiplex technique to quantitative protein
pattern analyses including statistical validation and
identification of target proteins by mass spectrometry. The
course will last five days and target early stage researchers
from laboratories around Europe.
In order to provide effective practical training, the course
will be restricted to 9 - 12 attendees. Participants are
encouraged to bring their own samples for analysis. Lodging
is arranged in a Hotel, which is located next door to the
Institute. Scientific lectures will be given by outstanding
experts in the field. All matters of this training school
are an inherent part of the GDC proteomics research group
including many years of experience in arranging international
training courses (e.g. COST summer schools 2009, 2010, 2011).
On September 4, 12:45-17:00 the
Protein
Rainbow
Lecture Afternoon
will take place at the GDC.
